Asukawkaw Senior High also known as ASUSEC is a public SHS in the Oti Region of Ghana located along Worawora Dambai road and precisely between Kaboso Katanga main stretch.

The school was formerly in the Volta Region until the recently created new Regions including the Oti Region.

Its current student population as of 2020 is around 695 with school facilities including a Computer Lab, Science Lab, Visual Arts Studio, Library among a few others.

It is a mixed school that admits both day and boarding students. It is at the foot of Asukawkaw Mountain and almost at the center of the town.

The school was established in 1984 as a community secondary school and later absorbed into the government system in 1990.

Asukawkaw SHS WASSCE Performance

The school has a fair performance over the years with the hope of performing much better going forward. In 2019 Asukawkaw SHS presented 167 WASSCE candidates out of which 14 students passed.

Considering the performance trend analysis in the four core subjects: social studies, English, Integrated Science and Mathematics, the school had had the following average performance from 2015 to 2019:

  • 2015 - 19%
  • 2016 - 35%
  • 2017 - 35%
  • 2018 - no records
  • 2019 - 40%
